Treasury, settlement and credit

Treasury, settlement and credit management in Tranexio is the funds side of the platform. It handles receipts, payments and cash application, cash plans and positions, financing and bills, and credit utilisation and release, and estimates, records and allocates import taxes and fees into cost – for treasury, settlement staff and finance managers.

Key points

  • Payments and cash application

    Payment requests split one-to-many into payment executions, and receipts are applied to contracts and orders by a single set of rules, with receivables and payables updated in real time.

  • Cash plans and positions

    Build rolling cash plans and see cash positions across every legal entity and account; maturing financing automatically creates a repayment task.

  • Two-way credit

    Credit you grant customers and credit others grant you are managed separately, with lines consumed by business and released by receipts.

  • Two taxes and nine fees

    Import duty, import-stage taxes and freight, insurance, port and other charges are estimated line by line, actuals recorded, and allocated to batches into cost.

  • Bills and reconciliation

    A bill pool manages receipt, payment and endorsement of acceptance bills, and bank statements and e-receipts are matched automatically for bank reconciliation.

The problem

Trading companies turn over cash quickly, in large amounts and along long chains. Typical pain points:

  • a receipt lands and nobody knows which contract it pays for, so cash application relies on back-and-forth email;
  • cash plans are disconnected from the business, and payment peaks collide with financing maturities;
  • credit limits are kept in spreadsheets, utilisation and release lag, and shipments over the limit still happen;
  • taxes and charges on an import shipment are totalled only afterwards, so cost and profit are inaccurate.

How Tranexio handles it

  1. Receipts and payments: approved payment requests are split into one or more payment executions, and receipts are matched to counterparties, contracts and orders by application rules maintained in one place.
  2. Cash planning: cash plans are generated automatically from contract payment terms, order delivery dates and financing maturities, and cash positions are consolidated.
  3. Financing and bills: the financing ledger records facilities, drawdowns, interest and principal repayments with automatic maturity reminders; the bill pool manages bills received, endorsement and collection.
  4. Credit: customer credit lines and group credit frameworks sit in one limit ledger, consumed at contract and shipment and released on receipt.
  5. Two taxes and nine fees (两税九费): for imports, each item is estimated from a charge template, then actuals are recorded and allocated to batches, flowing into inventory cost and order P&L.
  6. Bank collaboration: bank statements and e-receipts are matched automatically once imported; the integration hub provides treasury and bank connectivity connectors that can connect to your existing treasury or bank–enterprise platform.

Key controls

Control How it works
Payment checks Before payment, contract payment terms, payee onboarding and sanctions screening are checked
Limit utilisation Shipments and open-account sales beyond available credit are blocked or sent for approval
Application rules Cash application rules have a single source, preventing one receipt being applied twice
Cost allocation The two taxes and nine fees are allocated by batch, and unrecorded estimates are reversed against actuals
Maturity reminders Financing and bill maturities automatically create tasks

Frequently asked questions

Can it connect to our banks?

The platform provides treasury and bank connectivity connectors via the integration hub, which can connect to your existing treasury or bank–enterprise platform to retrieve statements, e-receipts and balances and send payment instructions. Each bank channel is enabled after joint testing in your environment.

What are the “two taxes and nine fees”, and how does the system handle them?

They are the costs of an import shipment beyond the goods price – taxes such as import duty and import VAT, plus charges for freight, insurance, port handling, storage, inspection, agency, banking and so on. The system estimates each item from a charge template, then records actuals and allocates them to batches into cost.

How are credit limits controlled?

Customer credit lines and group credit frameworks sit in one limit ledger; limits are consumed when contracts are signed and goods ship, released when payment arrives, and available headroom is visible in real time. Business exceeding the limit is blocked or sent for approval by rule, and limit changes also require approval with a trail.

What if we receive a payment and do not know which contract it is for?

The system recommends where to apply it based on payer, amount, currency, contract number and other rules. Once treasury confirms, the matching receivable is cleared; unapplied receipts are tracked on a pending list so nothing sits in suspense for long.
