Frequently asked questions

What is Tranexio?

Tranexio is an AI-native platform for integrated domestic and international trade. With the trade contract as the single source of truth, it brings seven functions – sales, procurement, customs, logistics, finance, treasury and risk – together on one platform, covering domestic purchasing and sales, own-account and agency import and export, entrepôt trade, processing trade and multi-party trade chains, as well as price fixing, hedging and derivatives trading.

Is Tranexio a brand-new product?

No. Tranexio is the AI-native upgrade of a mature trade and customs product line. It carries forward business models refined over many years of serving commodity traders, importers and exporters and customs clients, with a rebuilt platform architecture, AI capabilities and a unified integration hub added on top.

What kind of company is it for?

Three types of company in particular: mid-sized and large commodity traders with price-fixing and hedging needs; manufacturing-and-trading groups with processing trade, export tax refunds, multi-entity accounting and a strong need for finance-business integration; and agency and integrated service providers that depend on rigorous documentation, compliance and cash control. Group headquarters overseeing the derivatives activity of subsidiaries are also supported.

Which trade models are supported today?

Six in the current release – domestic purchasing and sales, own-account import and export, agency import and export, entrepôt trade, processing trade and multi-party trade chains. Each transaction is described along three dimensions – commercial model × customs supervision mode × deal channel – and overlay capabilities such as hedging, credit insurance, open-account sales and tax refunds can be layered on, so combined scenarios are recorded accurately.

Can it connect to the China International Trade Single Window and Golden Customs Phase II?

Yes, connection is available. Through the integration hub, Tranexio provides standard connectors for the Single Window and Golden Customs Phase II, supporting pre-submission checks on customs declarations, idempotent handling of message receipts and automatic synchronisation of declaration status. The exact access route – for example via an enterprise-side front-end processor or a data exchange channel – is configured during implementation according to your qualifications and environment.

How are export tax refunds handled?

The current release follows the exempt-and-refund method for foreign trade companies. The system checks that customs declarations, special VAT input invoices, foreign exchange receipts and shipping documents are complete, flagging gaps as “to be supplied”; it calculates the refundable amount, charges the difference between levy and refund rates to cost, and completes multi-way reconciliation and document filing. Refund filing can connect to the electronic tax bureau via the integration hub; the exempt-offset-refund method for manufacturers is on the roadmap.

Can price fixing, hedging and futures trading be done in one system?

Yes. Once a pricing order takes effect, the system issues a hedge recommendation and the trader places the order on the same platform; fills are written back to positions and linked to the hedge instruction and the physical order. Futures gains and losses can be allocated to order profit month by month, giving integrated futures-and-physical accounting. Futures brokers' trading systems connect via the integration hub, and production connections require look-through certification first.

Is hedge accounting supported?

Yes. You can designate hedging relationships, run prospective and retrospective effectiveness tests, generate journal entries for fair value and cash flow hedges, and reclassify the hedging reserve, in line with IFRS 9 and Chinese Accounting Standard for Business Enterprises No. 24 – Hedge Accounting. Effectiveness thresholds can be set to match your accounting policy.

Can a group control the derivatives activity of its subsidiaries?

Yes. Tranexio provides four-level control of derivatives – qualification, plan, authorisation and limit. If any gate is not met, the trade is blocked before the order is placed. Alerts, material-event reporting and consolidated submissions from subsidiaries are also provided, so headquarters can compile reports as regulators require.

How does it work with our existing ERP or finance system?

As soon as a business document is confirmed, accounting events and journal entries are generated under the finance-business mapping rules and pushed to the external general ledger via the integration hub. Items with missing mappings go to a manual queue, and reversals and drill-back from entry to source are supported. Connectors for mainstream finance systems such as Yonyou are available; Tranexio works alongside your existing ERP rather than replacing it.

How far do banking, treasury and cash management go?

The platform covers receipts and payments, cash planning, cash positions, letters of credit, bill pools, bank reconciliation, a financing ledger and collections, plus item-by-item estimation, recording and cost allocation of import taxes and landed costs (“two taxes and nine fees”). Bank connectivity and group treasury are supported through standard connectors in the integration hub.

What risk and compliance capabilities are there?

Pre-submission compliance screening runs at four points – contract, order, shipment and payment – and can check against sanctions lists. Unified credit limits, deposits, business blocking and risk alerts are supported, as is export credit insurance – buyer credit checks, limits, policies, shipment declarations, claims and deadline alerts. External list sources and credit insurance data exchange can be connected.

What can the AI do today?

The current release offers two AI capabilities. The first is HS classification suggestions – the top three codes with confidence scores and supporting reasons, confirmed by a customs officer with an audit trail. The second is AI governance – every AI call goes through a unified gateway, is controlled by tenant and role, is fully logged and can be reviewed by a person. Document recognition, a conversational assistant and intelligent alerts are on the product roadmap.

Is on-premises deployment supported, including Chinese domestic technology stacks?

Yes. Tranexio is offered as multi-tenant SaaS or as an on-premises deployment from the same codebase. It supports MySQL and Chinese domestic databases such as Dameng; on-premises installations can be provided as an ARM64 offline deployment package, and the Chinese SM2 and SM4 cryptographic algorithms are supported. Specific Xinchuang stack combinations are adapted and verified per environment during the project.

Are multiple legal entities, organisations and group control supported?

Yes. The organisation is modelled as tenant – business unit – department – employee – account, with each business unit mapped one-to-one to a legal entity, so groups and subsidiaries can be represented across several levels. Data is isolated between legal entities, cross-entity operations are logged, and permissions are controlled across five dimensions – menu, button, data, field and API.

Which languages and currencies are supported?

The interface is available in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and English, master data names can be maintained in several languages, and time zones are set per legal entity. Transactions are handled in multiple currencies – transaction currency, the entity's functional currency and reporting currency. External documents in other languages can be enabled per project.

Our business has special requirements. Will we need custom development?

As a rule, no. Tranexio is delivered in layers: product core, industry pack, project pack, tenant configuration and user preferences. Module enablement, approval workflows, numbering rules, extension fields and reports are all configurable. Project differences live in configuration rather than in forked code, so your configuration keeps working after product upgrades.

Is there a dedicated solution for exporting complete machinery?

Yes. The machinery and equipment export solution provides CPQ for configurable machines (feature constraint checks, regional price lists and gross-margin floors), delivery execution and shipping document management. It suits exporters of construction machinery, agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles and complete plant.
