The problem
Management data is often assembled ad hoc in spreadsheets by subordinates, while front-line staff hop between dozens of menus:
- business results arrive only at month end, and each department defines them differently;
- there is no single view of risk and customs metrics, so problems surface late;
- traders are unsure what needs doing today, with tasks scattered across email and instant messaging;
- every new report request needs IT to build it.
How Tranexio handles it
- Dashboards: role-based dashboards show volumes, gross margin, receivables ageing, exposure, limit utilisation, and customs and tax refund progress.
- Workspaces: each role’s workspace brings together its tasks, alerts and frequent actions. Tasks come from approval workflows and business rules, and can be pushed to the company’s existing instant messaging and OA channels.
- Reports: the reporting centre organises standard reports in a catalogue, with subscriptions and version snapshots. Industry and project reports are layered on top without changing the product core.
- Traceability: end-to-end tracing shows upstream and downstream documents and journal entries from any document.
- Cost–benefit analysis: costs and returns are analysed on a business basis by contract, project, customer and commodity.
Key controls
| Control | How it works |
|---|---|
| Consistent permissions | Dashboards and reports follow the same data permissions, cascading through the organisation hierarchy |
| One definition per metric | Metric definitions are maintained centrally, so reports do not each calculate their own version |
| Drill-down | Every summary metric drills down to the underlying documents |
| Closed-loop tasks | Task outcomes write back to business status, and overdue tasks can be escalated |
Self-service drag-and-drop analysis and predictive analytics are on the roadmap.
