The problem
Trading groups often hold several funding accounts with several futures brokers, owned by different legal entities:
- traders log in to several broker terminals at once, order records are scattered and the group cannot see its overall positions;
- risk limits are checked after the event, when the breach has already happened;
- hedge orders are disconnected from physical business, so nobody can say which futures position is hedging which physical deal;
- broker statements are reconciled against internal records by hand every day.
How Tranexio handles it
- Accounts and authorisation: maintain futures accounts, sub-accounts, traders and risk templates; traders can trade only the accounts and commodities they are authorised for.
- Unified order entry: the multi-account trading gateway channels orders from multiple legal entities and funding accounts through one entry point and routes them to the right broker account by rule.
- Pre-trade risk control: before an order is sent, it is checked against position limits, maximum order size, margin usage and trading hours; a breach rejects the order and the reason is recorded.
- Fills and positions: fill reports automatically build position details and daily snapshots, and mark-to-market results feed exposure and P&L reporting.
- Hedge linkage: hedge orders are linked to a hedge instruction and a physical anchor – see Hedging and hedge accounting.
- Reconciliation: broker statements and settlement reports are imported and reconciled line by line, and futures P&L can be allocated monthly to orders.
Broker connectivity is provided through standard connectors on the integration hub, which supports connection to futures brokers’ trading systems; production connections are enabled within each project once the broker’s authentication requirements are met.
Key controls
| Control | How it works |
|---|---|
| Trading authorisation | An order can be placed only when trader, account and commodity authorisations all match |
| Rejection trail | Risk rejections record the rule, threshold and order details |
| Hedge flag | Orders from hedging accounts must reference a hedge instruction |
| Group limits | Group derivatives four-level control can be layered on top – see Group derivatives control |
| Reconciliation differences | A variance list is produced when broker statements and internal fills disagree |
